Founded in 2000 as a Bozeman fly-shop and Montana fly-fishing guide service, we sold the fly shop in late 2022 to our friends at Yellow Dog Fly Fishing and now focus exclusively on our guided Montana fly-fishing trips near Bozeman. We are among the longest, continuously operating fly-fishing guide services in Montana and feature a small core of experienced professionals that welcome fly anglers of all skill levels.

Bozeman is the ideal Montana fly-fishing destination with a lifetime's worth of wild-trout water easily accessed close to our town and our airport (BZN) is easier than ever to travel to with multiple flights arriving daily from around the country.

Guided Fly Fishing Day Trips

Guided fly-fishing trips in the Bozeman area are offered year-round to anglers of all skill levels by the professional Montana fly-fishing guides at Fins & Feathers. These full day fly-fishing excursions include float trips on local rivers such as the Madison, Yellowstone, Gallatin, and Jefferson rivers - each of which is easily accessed from Bozeman with less than an hour's drive each way. Our central location enables our guests to experience a wide range of fisheries throughout Southwest Montana with more flexibility when conditions change from one watershed to the next. We accommodate specific requests for our guests that have a preference to one fishery over another, but most trip destinations are chosen the day of the trip based on weather and water conditions.

  • Pricing is for Groups of 1 or 2 Anglers per Guide
  • Deli Lunches and Non-Alcoholic Beverages are Included
  • Fishing Licenses and Gratuities Are Not Included

Reservations can be made online or via e-mail at info@flyfishingbozeman.com . We require a minimal deposit of $1.00 per trip to secure a reservation, full payment is required 10 days prior to the start of a reservation. Cancellations and changes can be made with no penalty 10 days prior to the start of a reservation. Deposits are non-refundable when cancellations are made within 10 days of a reservation start day (see full deposit policy).

Half-Day Guide Trip Options

Half-day guided fly-fishing trips on the lower Madison River are available September-October and April-June. In-season (July-August) reservations are available when we have last minute availability and conditions are appropriate. The river is only 20 minutes from Bozeman and is a great choice for anglers with limited availability. These 4-hour outings are ideal for families with small children or inexperienced fly anglers looking for a quick introduction to the sport. Our Bozeman fly-fishing guides typically float the river in the late spring and early fall with wade-oriented trips preferred during the winter months.

Pricing of $600 includes use of gear, drinks, flies, and terminal tackle for group sizes of 1-2 anglers. Half-day guided fly-fishing trip reservations can be placed online with a minimal deposit (see policy) required to secure the booking when made 10 days in advance.

Off-Season Guided Fly Fishing

Winter and early spring offer some surprisingly good fly-fishing opportunities in the Bozeman area. Our Montana guided fly-fishing offerings during the off-season are on the lower Madison River or the Gallatin River near Bozeman. Conditions can be challenging at times, making these trips most appropriate for anglers with previous fly-fishing experience. These off-season excursions are wade-oriented trips that last 4-6 hours in duration. Pricing of $475 includes use of gear, flies, terminal tackle, lunches, and drinks for group sizes of 1-2 anglers per guide.

Reservations can be made online or through e-mail and are secured with a minimal deposit (see policy) when placed 10 days prior to the start date. Last minute cancellations due to inclement weather receive a full refund.
