Half-Day Bozeman Montana Fly-Fishing Guide Trip

Our guided half-day lower Madison River fly-fishing trips are 4-hour float-trips that take place on the stretches below the Beartrap Canyon, about 20 minutes from our Bozeman headquarters. When conditions are appropriate, we also offer wade-oriented outings on the Gallatin River between Belgrade and Gallatin Gateway – typically during the off-season between November and late March. Half-day guided fly-fishing trips are a good choice for new fly-anglers looking for an “on the water’ introduction to fly-fishing.

Half-Day Lower Madison River Guide Trips

The lower Madison River offers an authentic Montana fly-fishing experience with the opportunity to catch a variety of wild trout species including Rainbow, Brown, and Cutthroat Trout. The proximity to town and abundance of public access points along the river makes the Madison the ideal destination for quick Bozeman fly-fishing excursions throughout most of the year. Our Bozeman fly-fishing guides prefer to float this stretch of the Madison River when introducing new anglers to fly-fishing as this provides more access to a variety of quality water than available when wading.

Half-Day Gallatin River Guide Trips

Gallatin River half-day guided fly-fishing trips are recommended during the off-season between November and late March. Access points along the river are quite busy during much of the year, making for a more crowded experience than we prefer to offer our guests. However, the stretches of the river in the Gallatin Valley, near Bozeman, receive less pressure during the off season and can be a solid choice when lower Madison River conditions are less desirable.
