Fishing has been inconsistent on the lower Madison the last few days, but the wind has been more manageable. The best results for us have been found by anchoring or wading around the deeper runs and buckets, rather than focusing on fishing while drifting. The fish have been holding in these deeper areas and moving slowly, so we have been working these deeper runs pretty thoroughly with heavily weighted rigs, picking up a few fish here and there. As the could cover increases in the coming days, expect the fishing to improve for the streamer anglers as the Brown Trout are getting active and moving into the shallows - the bright sun has had them acting very nervous, however.
