Montana Fly Fishing Conservation | Here and Beyond

Join Us In Supporting Conservation

Protecting and preserving the natural resources that make Montana fly fishing a rich and diverse experience has been a quintessential part of the Fins and Feathers Guide Service brand for 25 years.

We actively support and promote conservation efforts because it’s the right thing to do.

Today, more than ever, our combined efforts can make a difference. From pollution standard rollbacks to irresponsible development, the waterways in Montana are under unprecedented threats.

Please join us in supporting these organizations that have clearly defined missions, low overhead, and prioritize resources over politics and trends.

Upper Missouri River Waterkeepers

Cold, clean water is the “secret sauce” to the legendary Montana fly fishing that has made this the “Last Best Place.” Although we can’t make more water in lean years or “pace it out” during big runoff years, we do advocate and support the fight for clean water here in Montana.

Upper Missouri Waterkeepers is a Bozeman-based environmental non-profit focused on protecting the upper Missouri River watershed. Iconic Montana fly fishing rivers like the Madison, Jefferson, Gallatin, Beaverhead, Ruby, and Big Hole are the lifeblood of this basin. UMW is on the frontlines of the battle for clean water, here and now.

Bighorn River Alliance

The Bighorn River is home to some of the best fly fishing in Montana on the river sections between Fort Smith and Hardin. This world-class wild trout fishery has a storied history, renowned for legendary fish numbers, large numbers of anglers, and a complex web of land ownership issues.

The Bighorn River Alliance has been working “to protect, preserve and enhance the long-term health and viability of the Bighorn River” since 1994. They have led the way in advocating for everything from sustainable river flows to relationship-building among the river’s diverse user groups.
