Only Fins: Fly Fishing Podcast

From There to Here

Founded in 2000, our brand was built on angling authenticity and the simple idea that fly fishing is an incredibly fun way to spend a day. 26 years later, we are still here in Bozeman, Montana, having a “time of it!”

Our tagline, “We’ve been out there since 2000,” says it all. Whether exploring side channels on the Madison or getting stranded on a gravel bar in the jungles of Bolivia, fly fishing has been our excuse to see the world for over a quarter of a century.

My name is Toby Swank, and I founded the Montana fly-fishing brand Fins and Feathers in late 2000. Today, we operate as Fins and Feathers Guide Service and focus on sharing our passion for the sport with anglers across Montana.

I run this Montana fly fishing outfitting business with my oldest son, Alex, who was just a year old when I started my career in the fly-fishing industry. I am having the best years of my career and am blessed to be able to do so alongside my son and this remarkable team of Bozeman fly fishing guides.

Have a listen when you have a chance!

										Montana lake fly fishing

Episode 1

Alex and Toby introduce themselves and discuss their evolution as anglers, both individually and as a father-son duo. Colorful stories and our unique banter accentuate the stories as we delve into the process of producing a podcast.

Fly fishing the wind river canyon

Episode 2

We hit the road to fly-fish in Wyoming with one of our favorite trout-fishing guides (who doesn't work for us), Jasper Roy, on the WInd River. There's a blend of current fishing information, stories from past adventures, and discussions about this unique fishery.

										Fly fishing farquhar atoll

Episode 3

Traveling and fly fishing have been in our DNA since the start. In this episode, we talk about some of our experiences fishing together at Astove Atollin the Seychelles and then Toby gives the rundown from his most recent trip there in early 2026.

The Podcast Today

Our latest adventure is what we are calling the “Only Fins” podcast. The goal is to connect with our guests in a more meaningful way by inviting everyone into the discussions we have with each other and our friends on all things fly fishing.

These episodes are a “work in progress,” so forgive us for our stammering and disconnected conversations due to poor editing. As with everything the brand has dipped into over the last quarter of a century, we will surely get better, and most definitely will have a blast “getting there.”
